Long list: Physical habitat methods

Final version, February 2024

The information in the three tables (click on Table 1 on the right) is based on published accounts and supplementary expert knowledge of available physical habitat/geomorphological assessment methods.

Some methods have been included at the request of the CaSTCo Technical Advisory Group but cover issues that were not strictly within scope – in these instances, there may be alternative methods that are not listed in the table.

Equally, the scope of some individual methods is wider than physical habitat/geomorphology, which may be pertinent to method selection by CaSTCo.

Incomplete entries reflect the generic lack of suitable assessment information in published accounts of the methods.

Peer-reviewed publications are listed in Citizen Science Guide Bibliography.

Methods identified as being relevant for further evaluation (the ‘shortlist’) are highlighted in green.
